Remnants of the Berlin Wall
When I heard that Madrid had a park with pieces of the Berlin Wall, I immediately jotted the name down in my trusty notebook. Further research showed that the park held a piano-shaped monument to Beethoven as well as other treasures. Indeed, just as one can visit Egypt through Madrid’s Templo de Debod, so can one skip to Germany via Parque de Berlín:
Wait, who’s that?
Duet-ing with Beethoven
Berlin or Bear-lin?
If you’re curious to read about how this park came to exist, check out details on the always-informative A View of Madrid. (The author mentions how park workers tried to wipe the slates clean of graffiti!) Adventurers can find the park next to metro stop Concha Espina.
