Hello! I have been busy lately. Earlier in the summer time couldn’t go fast enough, but now it seems I don’t have enough hours in the day to get everything accomplished before I haul anchor to the 11870 (that’s Madrid!).
If you are reading this blog, you probably already know that I am headed to Spain next month. I leave a week from today, in fact! I have been awarded a Fulbright Teaching Assistantship in central Madrid, which I couldn’t be more excited about. I’m looking forward to sharing my language with high schoolers, meeting other Fulbrighters, and immersing myself in Spanish cultura once more. Yes, I did study in the country three years ago, in the northwestern town of Leon. I kept a blog at that time, too, and my hope now is that journaling will help me to be reflective about the people, places, daily nuances, and other unknowns I will encounter. Please feel free to comment and ask questions, and I will do my best to answer.
Now, for a disclaimer: Keep in mind that this blog is NOT an official Fulbright website, nor a Department of State website. The stories, photos, and information presented are courtesy of yours truly and do not represent the Fulbright Program nor the Department of State.
See how easy that was? You’ll be speaking Spanish in no time.
